Our research combines multiple approaches as e.g.; dendrochronology, quantitative wood anatomy and tree-growth modeling to decode information locked in calendar dated annual growth rings that provide valuable understanding of ongoing (changing) processes within the natural and diverse forest ecosystem of Eurasia. To this end, we seek to acquire a detailed understanding of forest ecosystem functioning and its relation with the past and current climate to forecast the future.
