Two new projects supported!

The government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research have granted two new projects lead by our team members.

1. The project entitled "Evaluating the impact of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station on local and regional climatic conditions by assessing pine growth" lead by Alberto Arzac (head of the laboratory). The project aims to evaluate changes in local climate conditions after the construction of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station and filling of the reservoir (1967-1970) by the use of tree-rings as a climate proxy.

2. The project entitled "The functional role of pine forests in the boreal zone of Central Siberia: photosynthetic and respiratory activity of subordinate forest layers" lead by Anastasia Makhnykina (junior researcher). The project aims to trace the dynamic changes in CO2 fluxes during the growing season concerning both climatic and anthropogenic environmental factors.
